Means "according to the vow." Sometimes sacred, sometimes profane, an ex-voto is an offering made to a god in request of a favor or in thanks for a favor obtained at the end of a vow. The origin of ex-Voto finds its source in the practices of pagan religions which since antiquity have sought help and protection from their divinities promising an offering in return for the favor requested. The Egyptians offered ex-votos as a token of gratitude to the goddess Serapis, the Greeks to the god Asclepius, and the Romans to the god Aesculapius.
Ex-votos are generally objects, such as statues, paintings or plaques, often accompanied by an inscription indicating the nature of the request or thanks.
Inspired by Claddagh rings, the first sketches of which date back to 16th-century Ireland, the Accroche Coeur collection embodies a powerful symbol of friendship, eternal love and fidelity, which will continue to seal feelings for generations.
Combine it as you wish with jewelry from the New Collection or the Permanent Collection.
