Jewelry Care
How to care for your jewelry?
To keep your jewelry shining for as long as possible, it's best to take care of it! To do this, you must first determine the material of your jewelry, because depending on its nature, the maintenance will vary.
Caring for gold jewelry
18k gold is a very durable precious metal. You can clean your gold jewelry with a soft toothbrush and a soapy product such as Marseille soap. Then, rinse it and dry it gently with a chamois leather. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
Cleaning silver jewelry
Solid 925/1000 silver is, like 18-carat gold, a durable precious metal.
It naturally oxidizes over time, more or less quickly depending on the type of skin and the humidity to which the jewelry is exposed. To slow down this natural chemical phenomenon, we recommend that you store your silver jewelry in a place protected from humidity. You can restore your jewelry's shine by cleaning it with a dry, soft "chamois" type cloth that you can find here on our site, or in drugstores.
There's also a magical remedy, passed down by our grandmothers, that we all have in our bathrooms: toothpaste! Applied with your finger or a soft-bristled brush, this simple and magical remedy will restore the shine to your silver jewelry. Then, simply wipe it with a soft cloth.
Also, know that the more you wear your silver jewelry, the happier and shinier it will be. For a ring, for example, regular contact with the skin will automatically make it shine!
Storing your vermeil jewelry
In accordance with the legal title, vermeil jewelry is made of 925/1000 silver coated with 5 microns of 22-carat yellow gold. This ensures that the gold coating will last over time. However, it is recommended to avoid contact with water, seawater, or swimming pools, and to avoid perfume , cosmetics, or household products.
To avoid scratches, be sure to place your jewelry on a soft surface (fabric, velvet, paper, etc.) that won't scratch it. Finally, as with any other jewelry, avoid drops or other violent shocks.
