In its portraits section, Ana.B offers this week an interview with Agnès "the globe-trotting" designer! A dive into the world of the jewelry designer to be found now on the Ana.B blog.

Behind Ana.B is Anaïs Brocard, a blogger and globetrotter. Her friend, writer and French teacher Fatima PY, describes her as follows: " Born in the Jura Mountains, a child of Africa, a teenager in the islands of Guadeloupe, now a Parisian, all punctuated by visits to all the places that are dear to her: Rome, Casablanca, Jerusalem… Her universe is plural, filled with beauty, fashion, and diverse cultures, known, discovered, or yet to be discovered. Hold on tight: we want to enter this sparkling, spiritual world through these objects that characterize her!" Today, Anaïs delves into all of Agnès' secrets... here are the details! “Your style in three words: My clothing style: bohemian and ethnic in summer, gentleman farmer in winter. My jewelry: timeless and ethnically inspired. Would you say your style is Parisian? Do you also feel a certain Indian influence? My inspiration comes from my travels and my passion for antique and ethnic jewelry. As a jewelry designer, are you drawn to a particular style of jewelry? I'm very drawn to antique jewelry and traditional pieces that have a strong meaning. I also like more timeless pieces that stand the test of time without aging. There's a lot of elegance, refinement, and joie de vivre in your creations. Where do you draw your inspiration from? I am inspired by everything that surrounds me, whether it is nature, art, architecture... Even a small, simple thing can be a source of inspiration from the moment it speaks to me, it arouses in me an emotion that I want to transcribe in my creations. When you travel for work, what do you always pack in your suitcase? Very French gifts for my friends in India, loose and light clothes to feel comfortable everywhere in the bazaar in Jaipur and in my workshops. More dressy pieces for going out; in India, some places are so magical, enchanting that it makes you want to dress accordingly. Your favorite piece in your wardrobe? An 80s denim jumpsuit I found at my favorite thrift store in London! Do you wear a lot of jewelry? Is it possible to wear too much jewelry? Do you have any personal limits? I wore a lot of them when I was younger, especially very large pieces, I had a lot of fun. Over time my tastes evolve, I have pieces that I never take off, a family ring for example. I always need rings, otherwise I feel completely naked! For me, there are no limits, as long as it's in harmony with her outfit. I can wear a large accumulation of rings and bracelets, but all on the same hand, and I never wear a necklace at the same time as earrings. How has living in Paris and India influenced your style? India is a very colorful country where you can dare anything! I had a lot of fun there, then calmed down when I came back. My clothing style is a good mix between India and Paris, just like my interior, quite eclectic. Who are the people who inspire you when it comes to style? Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot, Jerry Hall. Your favorite places for shopping in India and Paris? In Jaipur, I always visit my friend Brigitte Singh, who creates wonderful clothes in sublime fabrics that I never tire of. Hot Pink for a beautiful selection of Indian designers, and Le Bazaar for multicolored shoes. I shop a lot in vintage stores, for the pleasure of discovering unique pieces. I find my basics at & Other Stories… and I really like the brands Sessun and Heimstone. Has your style evolved since you launched your own brand? I wear a lot more beautiful basics, which I pair with a statement piece, a treasure I brought back from a trip or a vintage piece inherited from my grandmother or found in a thrift store. When I lived in India, I wore a lot of color. I think geography and the passing years have made me evolve: the more I go on, the more I know my body and the pieces that flatter me."
